Known for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, Douglas Fir is commonly used in construction, structural beams, cladding, and furniture. With our cut-to-size service, you can get the exact lengths you need, eliminating waste and ensuring your timber is ready for easy installation.

Why Choose 4.8m Cut to Size Douglas Fir?

1. Exceptional Strength and Durability

Douglas Fir is one of the strongest softwoods, offering impressive structural integrity and stability. This makes it perfect for construction projects, including framing, roof beams, and supports, as well as furniture or joinery. Its resistance to moisture and decay also makes it suitable for outdoor use, ensuring long-lasting performance in all weather conditions.

2. Natural Beauty

Douglas Fir boasts a clean, straight grain pattern with a pale yellow to reddish-brown colour. The tight grain and smooth texture make it an attractive option for visible structural elements or when a high-quality finish is required. Over time, it can develop a beautiful silvery patina when exposed to the elements, adding a unique aesthetic appeal to your outdoor projects.

3. Custom Cut to Your Needs

With our cut-to-size service, you can order your 4.8m Douglas Fir in the exact lengths you need for your project, reducing the need for additional cutting and minimizing waste. Whether you're working on a large-scale structural project, furniture, or decking, this service ensures you have the right amount of timber, ready for use when it arrives.

4. Easy to Work With

Douglas Fir is lightweight compared to other hardwoods, making it easy to handle, cut, and install. Its workability allows for smooth finishes, making it ideal for DIY projects as well as professional builds. You can easily shape, sand, and finish Douglas Fir for the precise look you want.

5. Sustainable Sourcing

At Sawn Sawmill, we prioritize sustainability, offering timber that comes from responsibly managed forests. When you choose our 4.8m Douglas Fir, you’re selecting a material that is not only strong and durable but also an eco-friendly option for your projects.
