3.6m Douglas Fir (Par) – Cut to Size

Our 3.6m Douglas Fir (Par) timber combines strength, beauty, and reliability, making it a top choice for a wide range of structural and aesthetic applications. Whether you’re working on construction projects, creating custom furniture, or installing cladding, this premium timber provides the durability and appearance needed to bring your vision to life.

Why Choose 3.6m Douglas Fir Timber?

1. Superior Strength and Durability

Douglas Fir is renowned for its exceptional strength and resilience. It is one of the strongest softwoods available, making it an excellent choice for load-bearing applications such as beams, posts, and flooring. Its natural resistance to moisture and decay ensures that your project will stand the test of time, both indoors and outdoors.

2. Timeless Aesthetic Appeal

With its light, golden to reddish-brown colour and straight grain, Douglas Fir has a warm, natural appearance that enhances any space. Its smooth texture makes it ideal for cladding, paneling, or creating feature walls in homes and offices. The wood’s distinctive grain adds character to your project, giving it a sophisticated yet rustic look.

3. Easy to Work With

Despite its strength, Douglas Fir is a relatively soft and easy-to-work-with timber. The planed finish ensures a smooth surface, ready for use in your project. It also takes stain, paint, and varnish beautifully, allowing you to customize the wood to fit your design perfectly. Whether you’re cutting, sanding, or treating, Douglas Fir responds well to tools and finishes.

4. Long-Lasting & Low Maintenance

Thanks to its natural resistance to the elements, Douglas Fir is low-maintenance and built to last. It performs well in both interior and exterior environments, developing a unique patina over time when left untreated. If you prefer to preserve its natural beauty, it is easy to maintain with periodic treatments, ensuring your timber stays in excellent condition for years.

5. Sustainable and Eco-Friendly

At Sawn Sawmill, we are committed to sustainability. Our Douglas Fir timber is sourced from responsibly managed forests, ensuring that every piece you purchase contributes to environmental preservation. By choosing our timber, you’re supporting eco-friendly practices while investing in a high-quality, long-lasting product.

Larch from the UK has a lot more colour than imported Siberian larch with deeper orange hews.

Cedar from the UK cedar has less colour than Canadian cedar, Uk cedar has the red and brown hews but this fades quickly to a yellow. Oiling can bring back the colour. Please bare this in mind if mixing or adding to projects that have imported timbers.
